Veterans Village Goes To The Streets

Veterans Village joined the B Street & Owens Outreach Intervention “Mini Housing Connect” effort and took in 8 new residents in collaboration with Clark County, HELP of Southern Nevada and the Salvation Army agencies.

Michael, who is pictured here and was living in his tent when we found him. He is a United States Veteran and we took him in at Veterans Village, got him immediate medical attention, clothing from our Veterans Village Thrift Store, food and supplies from our donor and Three Square food pantry and he was greeted and welcomed by fellow Veterans and our Veteran staff members in our lobby.

None of this process is easy, but I feel great that yesterday we took 8 people from the streets and are housing them at Veterans Village in an environment filled with respect and dignity, the way it should be.

If you would like to donate your time, non perishable food items or cash donation please contact me ta 702-624-5792Michael

An update on our Veteran resident “Michael”: We found him living in a tent at a homeless camp a week ago and took him to Veterans Village for safe housing. Special thanks to The Salvation Army, HELP of Southern Nevada, First Person Care Clinics, Three Square Regional Food Bank and our own Greg Brannon, V Village Crisis Intervention Specialist who all helped triage Michael through this process. This is what makes all of the 24/7 triage work worth while. One resident at a time off the street and back to a life of dignity. Our Veterans deserve ONLY the best!
